Electoral fraud And tax evasion Outright lies And fabrication Backhanders to chums Diddling the sums Seems to me it’s a... ‘crimewave’ Broken promises And worthless doublespeak Once the people’s saviour Now corruption at its peak Expenses fraud And arms sales abroad Vested interests And a chance to be a lord Tax cuts for the wealthy And privatisation that is stealthy Failed at life But minus the strife? Don’t worry dear, We’ll make you a peer One rule for them and another for us One rule for them and another for us One rule for them and another for us Expect a crimewave, expect a crimewave! X2 They’re the real criminals The real benefits street We subsidise their lifestyles Working to keep them sweet They'd have the shirt off your back And make you beg for your dinner You've got the rules wrong We can't all be a winner Swanning and swindling and Riding the gravy train Getting caught makes no difference, It's simple and plain They're hooky, they're crooked They're as bent as a two bob note And all they do is grin and gloat! When you want someone banged up For going on a bender But you're all out boshing coke Top wage and big spenders When you block legalisation For cannabis production But your husband owns a ganja farm With no obstruction We'd lose our rights, Zero hours or benefits claim They'd file for more expenses 'Cause they've rigged the game! One rule for them and another for us One rule for them and another for us One rule for them and another for us Expect a crimewave, expect a crimewave! X2 So get out there and do some crimes Obeying the law is not a sign of the times Be dishonest, embrace corrupt It's one-up for me, let the streets erupt Why should we not make up our own rules When a moral compass is clearly for fools? We can decide what to do with our own life No one should be surprised that crime is so rife? One rule for them and another for us One rule for them and another for us One rule for them and another for us Expect a crimewave, expect a crimewave! X2 When you can't remember Owning extra houses When you can't remember If you cheated on your spouses When you talk about Being guided by God But your husband has investments In missiles, the sod

Mind the Gap 03:50
Pass me a vol au vent darling This shabby chic is so delicious A soirée at a food bank It’s so edgy and nutritious These canapés really are scrummy Oh to see how the other half live, it’s so funny Those two smelly chaps are game for a fight Such attention to detail, oh what a night! There’s two types of banks currently in use Filled with tins of food, or cash-moneys profuse The poverty gap is widening and no one seems to care Rising cost of living, for some it’s a mare Some are rewarded, while others find it grueling It might be less for nice teeth and private schooling Maybe not everyone makes top brass But we’re all encouraged to join the parasitic class Mind the Gap It’s getting bigger every day Mind the Gap It’s getting worse in every way Mind the Gap You’re not invited to the buffet Mind the Gap But you’re expected to fucking pay They sold you the dream, got you hooked up on that fix Now you know no better it’s time for some new tricks Back to the workhouse to get a crooked stoop Got three jobs and kids paying in to the coop No time to protest or have a moment of fun Just binge on a box set when your day is done Financial growth’s a disease the gap’s increasing It’s the bottom feeders these predators are fleecing But I adore giving to charity It’s more than just a tax write-off I’m as altruistic as the next man And wash down guilt with the drinks I quaff Don’t hate the player Hate the game If I didn’t take advantage It would just be the same And you would still have to… Mind the Gap It’s getting bigger every day Mind the Gap It’s getting worse in every way Mind the Gap You’re not invited to the buffet Mind the Gap But you’re expected to fucking pay Listen, chums It’s simply a matter of breeding Everyone in their place Is what you should be heeding It’s long been like this Don’t take it the wrong way Oh, and here’s the bill It’s for you to pay…

It's not up for grabs, not up for sale Given time we'll all become frail Don't make out it's a financial drain When Big Pharma backhanders is the strain We paid for it in taxes, it's ours to keep Stop the dismantling and selling off cheap You can keep your trans-atlantic deal The US model has zero appeal Don't make profit from our pain It's a safety net and we all gain Private healthcare is unwanted stress Hands off our NHS! Society is designed to make us ill So they can sell us drugs when we’ve been through the mill It sounds shady to me I must confess Hands off our NHS! A typical rundown of charges for privately run healthcare insurance in the US: $40 for holding your baby after giving birth $40,000 for a hip replacement $367,000 for surgery and a two-week stay $153,000 for treating a rattlesnake bite $300 a month to receive insulin 643,000 people go bankrupt each year, because of medical bills We can't afford to be ill with prices like this You want this from us? You're taking the piss! Don't make profit from our pain It's a safety net and we all gain Private healthcare is unwanted stress Hands off our NHS! Society is designed to make us ill So they can sell us drugs when we’ve been through the mill It sounds shady to me I must confess Hands off our NHS! We're not the only country with state healthcare It's not communism, just playing fair Take a look at a US treatment bill One small slip and it's a bitter pill Why would they sell off the NHS? Let's have ourselves a little guess Could it be based on some private interests? What portfolios do MPs possess? Back in 2014, 1/5 of coalition MPs had links to private healthcare firms: Jeremy Hunt, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Iain Duncan Smith, Michael Fallon, David Cameron, William Hague, Andrew Lansley, Liam Fox, David Davis and many more have shares or links to private healthcare firms or have received payments, bungs and bribes from them. Don't make profit from our pain It's a safety net and we all gain Private healthcare is unwanted stress Hands off our NHS! Society is designed to make us ill So they can sell us drugs when we’ve been through the mill It sounds shady to me I must confess Hands off our NHS! From Botswana, Kuwait, Iceland to Brazil You’ll find countries that look after their ill Portugal, Canada, Sweden to Cuba For a similar system you don’t need to look far Don't let the UK go the same way As Paraguay, Jordan or the USA It's our NHS and we already pay Universal healthcare is here to stay!

Patriots are cozying up to privileged nonces Carving up the country is one of their main responses Attacking your own people should be the highest form of treason Now you're voting them up and giving them more reason Listen luv – opening your own cute coffee shop where you whinge about having to pay your staff minimum wage does not make you the capitalist class… It makes you a selfish cunt! Listen mate – starting your own building firm and begrudgingly employing foreigners coz you can pay them less doesn't make you part of the elite… It makes you a selfish cunt! The Bullingdon club work for their chums in the city Leave us fighting for scraps – oh no, it won't be pretty The media sets us against each other Keep an eye on your neighbour – they're not your brother The electorate is convinced they're a superior class By owning a poxy business, that's not sitting on your arse You've nabbed a dingy flat under buy-to-let Well that's you in the club then – you're all set! We’re a nation set to self-destruct Two steps backward until we're fucked We’re a nation set to self-destruct Two steps backward until we're fucked We’re a nation set to self-destruct Two steps backward until we're fucked We turned our land into a sea of blue Making Britain great again, but not for me and you We don't blame those who make the rules Only others who obey them We don't look at where the money trail goes Taxes to the Caymans I don’t do politics, they’re all the same Don’t like Corbyn, doesn’t play the game Besides, we’re in the aspiring classes And Jeremy’s got fucking wonky glasses! Our blood, it's OUR blood You know – pure British blood! The one made up of Celtic, French, Norman, Viking, and Germanic blood But now we've had all them, coming over here and strengthening the gene pool, we're shutting the fucking door son! We're British – we're proud Brits, we don't need some Euro-twat running our country. We've got homegrown sociopaths who’ll do that for us, British style – with Yorkshires and gravy on the side! I'm so patriotic! I'm gonna punch myself in the face I'm so patriotic! I'm gonna shit on my own doorstep I'm so patriotic! I'm gonna sell off what my taxes pay for I'm so patriotic! I'm gonna be ruled by British tyrants (none of that foreign muck) We’re a nation set to self-destruct Two steps backward until we're fucked We’re a nation set to self-destruct Two steps backward until we're fucked We’re a nation set to self-destruct Two steps backward until we're fucked We learnt to bow before our media kings Old man Murdoch always at the strings We’re a nation set to self-destruct x4 It’s an extended game of Where’s Boris and the UK is the venue You can be sure that aged gammon is still very much on the menu

The sickness arrived long before the virus An insane system with profits to inspire us It’s dog eat dog in a race to the top Chasing numbers or you’re in for the chop To keep a roof overhead you’re called a hero But being paid in praise is close to getting zero The top tier chase risk until it’s risky Then demand a bailout and sit back with a whisky The cracks in the system have now been exposed The path ahead lays open, where once it was closed People were encouraged to prepare for the worst But mutual aid was the rescue – putting people first! No more No more No more No more normal x4 It shouldn’t be normal for people to be sleeping on the street Or underpaying care workers, the ones who take the heat It shouldn’t be normal for landlords to take the cream You’re struggling to cough up cash and they’re living the dream Why do they make cannon fodder of those in poverty And others hoard wealth – our labour is the commodity This mongrel nation wanted to tighten border control But those people are saving our arses and taking the toll We have to see the positives, it’s not all doom and gloom Work together to break the code, we can mushroom Send our spores out into these new winds The past mistakes and greed we can rescind No more No more No more No more normal x4 We need to make the first moves in this game Build our new world, not return to the same Look out for each other and don’t be a snitch You’ll end up a tool for the state, instead be the glitch We won’t wait for leadership we’ll organise local We’ll take the reigns in our hands and make ourselves vocal We were told that change was impossible Disguise the limits – now is anything possible…

Well here we are in the 21st century They’ve created such a world for you and me Oh Lord on thee our hopes we fix Strike the domain of heathens and sceptics Heretics, the damned and the doomed In the fires of hell they will be consumed For those folk whom God’s path they choose There is a better way to wash away your blues Thoughts and prayers will get you through the day And keep all the world's problems at bay All are welcome in god's church to stay Unless you're a woman, muslim or gay Thoughts and prayers will get you through the day And keep all the world's problems at bay I wouldn’t leave your kids with them to play The vulnerable and gullible is their prey Nourish yourself on thoughts and prayers Nom nom nom nom, It's thoughts and prayers Paying my bills with thoughts and prayers Getting through life with thoughts and prayers X2   Give us your money Give us your money Give us your money money X4 Don’t introduce gun control Just ignore the constant death toll Don’t release those files on peado rings Hide the dossiers and other things Don’t curb your foreign policy It’s far from Christian, honestly Don’t feed the homeless and the poor And don’t forget to close the door… Who would have thought in this here modern age That we’d turn to fiction, not turn the page After all it’s not our problem it’s theirs Coz we rely on our thoughts and our prayers... Nourish yourself on thoughts and prayers Nom nom nom nom, It's thoughts and prayers Paying my bills with thoughts and prayers Getting through life with thoughts and prayers x2 Give us your money Give us your money Give us your money money x4 Oops, your kid died without inoculation Oops, millions dead due to starvation Oops, a lone gunman in the school yard Oops, catholic priests leaving kiddies scarred Why don't you climb up the steeple? Throw yourself off to save the people X2

Stooges of the state With no say in the proceedings Start with good intentions Then leave suspects with bleedings Dial 1312 for murder Dial 1312 for murder “I’m just doing my job” they say Persecuting people for some pay Dial 1312 for murder Dial 1312 for murder What is a legitimised use of force? The odds are stacked against us, the problem lies at source Classist targets and racial profiling Low-income felons they are stockpiling Protecting private property? Let’s get it straight They won’t protect communities, just gated estates But if there’s a demo or a fox hunt to protect They’ll appear in droves, live and direct Stooges of the state With no say in the proceedings Start with good intentions Then leave suspects with bleedings Dial 1312 for murder Dial 1312 for murder “I’m just doing my job” they say Persecuting people for some pay Dial 1312 for murder Dial 1312 for murder Always nabbing protestors or anti-fascists Supporting the far-right whenever there’s clashes Protecting the rights of bankers to exploit and skim Protesting an injustice? You’ll be out on a limb They’re just not here to serve normal folk 200 years plus, it’s a long running joke Get yourself a real job lads and lasses Instead of being a traitor to your classes Stooges of the state With no say in the proceedings Start with good intentions Then leave suspects with bleedings Dial 1312 for murder Dial 1312 for murder “I’m just doing my job” they say Persecuting people for some pay Dial 1312 for murder Dial 1312 for murder They say it’s policing by consent Harassing people in order to pay their rent Cops only have power because we say so They’ll answer to us at the end of the day so Don’t obey orders above your own ethics Groveling to our leaders, it’s pathetic Legality is not a guide for morality Let’s learn from our history, adjust our mentality Keep your eyes peeled, for the Peelers The world’s longest running gang, putting out feelers Here the private police force has strong roots Soon you’ll answer to G4S and Serco’s boots The fuzz are just puppets of the ruling elite Protecting property first before people on their beat If we stand together us they won’t defeat So let’s clean up the filth off the streets

End – humanity – now! Nothing good to say, we've had our day End – humanity – now! It's the end of the road and we blew our load End – humanity – now! Why go on like this, we're a fucking cyst End – humanity – now! It's just take take take, give the planet a break End – humanity – now! x4 Human beings are a stain on this planet In a blip on its timeline and we’ve damned it Rubbing against nature like cheese and chalk We’ve shafted our ecology, no time to talk It’s not just us that live on this earth But it’s us who rob it for its worth We pave the planet and pollute the air Driving up sea levels without a care We’re biting the hand that feeds us If the world were a spot then we’d be the puss Every day 150 species become extinct We abuse our home, are these things not linked? The industrial revolution spiral out of control A hunger for growth and gadgets became our goal There are some solutions but they’re often suppressed Where the fuck next is anybody’s guess! End – humanity – now! Nothing good to say, we've had our day End – humanity – now! It's the end of the road and we blew our load End – humanity – now! Why go on like this, we're a fucking cyst End – humanity – now! It's just take take take, give the planet a break End – humanity – now! x4 Wha’cha gonna do Wha’cha gonna do Wha’cha gonna do When it comes for you? x3 End – humanity – now! Nothing good to say, we've had our day End – humanity – now! It's the end of the road and we blew our load End – humanity – now! Why go on like this, we're a fucking cyst End – humanity – now! It's just take take take, give the planet a break End – humanity – now! x4 What are we waiting for? What are we waiting for? What are we waiting for? What are we waiting for? X2

about

Recorded during the 2020 lockdown period, the eight rave-punk songs on this third release feature blistering attacks on a wide range of contemporary themes – inequalities and food bank use, privatisation of the NHS, the Anthropocene era and what the band sees as the inherently corrupt nature of organised religion and police forces. It's the ideal soundtrack to the worst generation in history.

about

Killdren Royal Tunbridge Wells, UK

Killdren are a two-bit rave-punk band with a smelly attitude who hail from Tunbridge Wells.

Sitting uneasily between straight-up nihilism and fresh-faced naivety,
Killdren pen politically charged slapstick anthems.
They form the ideal soundtrack to the worst generation in history.
